Which Essays Do You Want To Approve Before Sending Back To A Student?

Most advisors want to see each essay an editor does before returning it to the student, so by default we turn on advisor approval for both Main Drafts and Supplements. But if you have a different workflow, you are able to control which essays can be returned directly to students after your editor reviews the draft, and which need to come to you for approval.

What Do You Want Your Editor(s) To See and Be Able To Do?

Further down this page, you will see various settings that allow you to customize the editor experience and tailor the editor platform to your workflow.

  1. Editors can only work on 1 essay at a time.  If you want them to be able to “drop” an essay and pick up another one, toggle on the first setting.
  2. If you want your editor to have read-only access to a student essay list so that they can see the full list of schools where the student is applying, toggle on setting two.
  3. Setting 3 will allow your editor(s) to view the Activity List and Resume section of the student, in read-only mode.
  4. And Setting 4 will allow the editor to see the Content Strategy for the student.

IEC - Editor Platform Settings 4 options

Each of these options enables you to customize how much information your editor has access to about each student they are working with.  If you have multiple editors, these settings will apply to all editors.
